The best flu bomb recipe to start feeling better quickly when you’re under the weather. It’s packed with antibacterial and anti inflammatory properties that will banish any sickness.
Many over the counter medicines contain carcinogens, food dyes, refined sugar, preservatives, and other chemicals that prolong getting better. Just skip straight to the flu bomb for supportive, all-natural ingredients that will aid your body to heal itself.
It’s my absolute favorite drink to make anytime I feel under the weather. I hope you love it as much as I do!
About the Ingredients
Some of these ingredients may have you scratching your head wondering, “Where do I even find some of this stuff?” Here are a few pointers:
- Fresh Turmeric: available at most health food stores (like Whole Foods). Freeze any leftovers to avoid having to go to the store next time. The nutrition profile is a little different, but powdered turmeric still has great health benefits if that’s all you have on hand.
- Fresh Ginger: available at most grocery stores. Again, freeze any left overs for next time. You can use the powdered form too, there’s just something about fresh that makes it so much better.
- Raw Apple Cider Vinegar: you’ll find many ingredients are recommended to be raw because they contain beneficial nutrients that haven’t been destroyed through a heat. My favorite brand is Bragg for ACV, but just look for anything that says “raw” and “with the mother” and you’ll be good.

Best Flu Bomb Recipe
Ingredients
- ½ inch fresh turmeric sub 1/2 tsp turmeric powder
- 1 inch fresh ginger sub 1 tsp ginger powder
- 1 cup filtered water
- 1 lemon
- 1 garlic clove
- ¼ tsp cinnamon
- 1 tbsp raw apple cider vinegar
- 1 tsp raw honey
- 1 pinch black pepper
- 1 pinch cayenne pepper optional
Instructions
- Mince garlic and set aside for 10 minutes. This allows antibacterial properties to activate.
- Peel and slice the fresh turmeric and ginger. Combine with water in a pot and bring to a boil. Immediately remove from heat to steep until it cools to a warm temperature, about 15-20 minutes.
- Strain turmeric and ginger liquid into a cup. Add juice of one lemon, minced garlic (I actually just gulp it down with a sip of water so the drink tastes better), cinnamon, apple cider vinegar, honey, black pepper, and cayenne pepper.
- Stir to combine and enjoy. Drink 3x a day until symptoms subside.
